On arrival every day you will register with your allocated Progress Tutor. This will give you opportunity to check notices for the day and a chance to discuss concerns or issues.
We have eight periods a day on a typical time table; some are free periods to enable independent study (a big part of student life!).
The timings of the day are:
|8.30am||Register your attendance|
|8.45am – 9.45am||Period 1|
|9.45am – 10.45am||Period 2|
|10.45am – 11.45am||Period 3|
|11.45am – 12.30pm||Period 4 *|
|12.30pm – 1.15pm||Period 5*|
|1.15pm – 2pm||Period 6*|
|2pm – 3pm||Period 7|
|3pm – 3.45pm||Period 8|
In the event of being absent, we expect a call to the main office before 9am. The message will be registered with your Progress Tutor who will monitor your absence. Doctors/Dentist appointments should be booked outside of teaching hours; where this is not possible evidence will be requested.
Student Dress Code
We believe all students should take pride in themselves and their appearance; also, being smart and presentable shows a positive attitude and demonstrates a genuine commitment to your studies. Excelsior Sixth Form students are role models for the younger students in the Academy and are therefore expected to set a good example in everything they do.
Sixth Form students are expected to dress in a manner appropriate to a workplace/business setting. This consists of black tailored trousers or skirt (skirts must be appropriate business length), collared shirt and tie (tie optional), blouse or plain top (must cover shoulders). Sensible shoes must be worn – no training shoes. Sportswear, denim and logos are not permitted. The College Director reserves the right to determine the suitability of clothes.
