The college values the future of all of our students and provides advice, support and guidance throughout Year 12 and Year 13.
Progression is supported on a 1:1 basis and we have dedicated staff to assist students in making decisions about their future career aspirations.
Miss Andrea Naylor – CEIAG and Work Experience Co-ordinator
Miss Naylor’s role is to support students with their career choices, plan and organise work placements and to provide guidance on applying for apprenticeships, employment and part time jobs.
Miss Anna Wallbanks – UCAS and Intervention Tutor
Miss Wallbanks’ role is to offer guidance and support to Excelsior College students wanting to apply to University. Miss Wallbanks liaises with Universities for visits, assemblies and curriculum support. She supports our students through the whole UCAS process
2017 destinations saw a record number of Excelsior College students obtaining a place at University. We have our first ever student secure a Higher Level Degree Apprenticeship at Virgin Money and the vast majority of our students secured employment, apprenticeships or further education.
Excelsior Academy are now in the 3rd year of the Gatsby Foundation ‘Excellence in Careers Education, Advice and Guidance’ Programme. We currently have achieved 6 of the 8 benchmarks and aim to have obtained all 8 benchmarks by the end of the academic year.
